North America Scholastic Esports Federation shares expertise in blended play and learning with leading French esports organization as it launches high school esports clubs

(Orange County, CA – June 24, 2020) – The North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF) and MCES (MonClub Esport) are joining forces to build a scholastic esports program to benefit youth in France. NASEF will be a supporting and advising partner as MCES brings French educators and students into the rapidly-growing international scholastic esports movement.

NASEF’s scholastic esports program is significantly different from other esports leagues in that it leverages massive student interest in video gaming for education on career and life skills. NASEF combines esports tournaments with intentional learning woven into coaching, mentorship, class materials, club organization and management, and more. Students learn about all areas of the esports ecosystem while participating in their favorite activity.

The founders of MCES are passionate about both traditional sports and video games and run several successful academies for European football and other sports. When they noted the lack of structure in the practice of esports, they began to create esports clubs and coaching facilities that would be accessible to all and help students improve their game skills. Now, with support and advice from NASEF, they’ll incorporate intentional career development into those clubs.

“We are thrilled to join forces with NASEF and leverage their experience in extending the value of our clubs from gameplay alone to intentional learning that is fun and appealing to youth,” said Sylvain Vachier, program director at MCES. “We strongly encourage any programs around the world to join us in partnering with NASEF to take esports to the next level of benefit for the participants.”

“We’re very grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with NASEF. Now, our members can experience the benefits of esports such as developing teamwork, collaboration and communication skills as they compete in international tournaments and events, plus learn how to take their love for esports and turn it into a rewarding and lasting career,” said Pierre LeHembre, MCES project manager.

“We’re thrilled to come alongside MCES and share our experience at using scholastic esports to connect meaningful learning to the fun of games,” said Gerald Solomon, NASEF founder. “Youth are the same at heart, wherever they live. We’ve created a valuable system of play and learning, and we’re excited to see it benefit people around the world.”

NASEF programs are provided free of charge. Whether it’s students participating in regional or international tournaments and Beyond the Game challenges for recognition, prizes, and scholarships; teachers using curriculum to integrate esports lessons into the classroom; or larger organizations creating programs to serve groups of youth, NASEF gladly and freely shares its breadth of knowledge, programs, and expertise.

Educators and esports program directors interested in getting advice or joining NASEF in creating scholastic esports programs should email [email protected].
