NASEF Esports Growth LeagueSpot Platform

North America Scholastic Esports Federation bulking up tournament resources in response to 755% growth over three years

(Orange County, CA – September 1, 2020) – The North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF) is partnering with LeagueSpot in preparation for its fall 2020 high school esports tournaments. LeagueSpot will provide a standardized competition platform and experience to hundreds of NASEF teams in schools and community organizations.

NASEF’s explosive growth now demands the backbone of a robust, versatile platform. In just two years, the number of teams participating in NASEF’s League of Legends tournament alone increased 755 percent from its inaugural season in 2018. That formative season featured a pilot program with a single regional tournament among 38 teams.

This fall, NASEF itself will offer 18 different tournaments, and its regional affiliates will collectively hold dozens of additional events. NASEF will utilize the LeagueSpot platform to offer a custom and comprehensive esports experience, providing general managers with tools needed to easily scale their administrative operations, such as bracket sorting, score reporting and stats tracking, rescheduling, and simplified navigation.

NASEF and LeagueSpot will continue to work together to consistently provide additional value to schools and participants every season. As with all NASEF program features, access to every tournament, the new platform, and improved tools is provided completely free.

"We are thrilled to partner with NASEF and their affiliate programs," said Andrew Barnett, LeagueSpot CEO. "NASEF already provides best-in-class esports experiences free for students nationwide. At LeagueSpot, we're excited to help broaden and scale their programs to as many schools, clubs, and students as possible."

NASEF commissioner Mark Deppe is also the Director of the well-known UCI Esports program located at the University of California, Irvine. He said, “With NASEF growing larger every year, we needed a solution to optimize our tournament operations. With LeagueSpot's support, the GM and player experience will significantly improve thanks to their easy-to-use platform and team management features.”

NASEF now includes hundreds of clubs across North America, with about a quarter of those fielding tournament teams in levels similar to JV and varsity. Thousands of additional students participate in NASEF clubs by playing recreationally, scrimmaging other teams, or joining Beyond the Game™ challenges to develop job skills that are needed in the fast-growing, multi-billion-dollar esports industry.
