Commissioner Update 12/12

NASEF’s mission is to create the next generation of game-changers: using esports to help young people to acquire the critical communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills needed to thrive in work and in life. To encourage these outcomes, NASEF has, at its core, a Code of Conduct to which all Clubs subscribe. It serves as NASEF’s guiding principle.

We all make mistakes. The challenge is to learn from them. When mistakes are repeated, or exacerbated, and violate the core principles of an organization there must be consequences. Unfortunately, NASEF was confronted with such a situation recently, and, effectively immediately, has found it necessary to suspend the NASEF club at Sunny Hills High School, including removing them from the Overwatch playoffs.

Our goal is for all NASEF-affiliated schools and programs to maintain the highest ethical and behavioral standards in alignment with our mission, vision and values. We are hopeful that the school and its club will take appropriate remedial action so they can rejoin the NASEF esports and learning family.
