STS Education: Exclusive Provider of Refurbished Gaming PCs

STS Education Phoenix Computers meet or exceed system requirements for all popular esports titles

Simi Valley, CA — May 27, 2020 — STS Education, one of the fastest growing K-12 educational technology providers in the country, announced today that it has reached an agreement with the North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF) to be its exclusive provider of refurbished gaming computers to K-12 schools. NASEF and STS are committed to making esports more affordable for every school by offering STS Phoenix Gaming Stations for less than half the cost of typical bundles.

“Affordable technology can be a significant obstacle preventing schools from launching esports programs. With complete gaming bundles topping $2,000 and more per station, it is often outside the budget for many schools,” said Tom Turner, NASEF’s chief education officer. “Partnering with STS Education will ensure that every school has access to affordable gaming technology without compromising performance.”

“NASEF has done wonderful work to foster the adoption of scholastic esports across thousands of schools in North America, leveraging the popular pursuit to offer meaningful education,” commented STS Education CEO Marc Netka. “The digital divide exists when it comes to esports, and we are proud to partner with NASEF to help address this challenge.”

“As a part of this relationship, STS Education will be developing numerous evergreen videos for students as well as mentorship and internship possibilities,” said Gerald Solomon, executive director of the Samueli Foundation and founder of NASEF. “STS Education is aligned with our scholastic approach to connecting gaming and learning, and that serves as the cornerstone of our relationship.”

“Buying devices to launch or expand a program can be cost prohibitive, but that doesn’t mean students must go without, or sacrifice performance to meet budget constraints,” added STS Education chief academic officer Elliott Levine. “Phoenix ComputersTM, an exclusive brand from STS Education, provides refurbished desktops configured with specifications that meet or exceed system requirements among today’s top esports games.”

STS Education pairs their gaming CPUs with new, affordable and esports-optimized components (144 Hz monitor, mechanical keyboard, gaming mouse, headset, 1080p webcam) to deliver a complete gaming experience typically for less than half of what schools might pay for traditional new gaming systems. As a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher, schools can rest assure the PCs they purchase include a genuine copy of Microsoft Windows

NASEF’s goal is always to connect meaningful education to esports, whether through classroom instruction or afterschool clubs. STS Education will be sharing its technology expertise with students by creating a series of instructional videos to help students learn about the hardware side of esports, including how to build, repair, upgrade and troubleshoot their gaming PCs.

Details on scholastic esports bundles, both refurbished and new, from partners including Lenovo Legion and HP Omen, can be found online at https://stseducation-us.com/learning-solutions/academic-esports/.
