WHAT

Collegiate Sports Management Group (CSMG) and ESPORTSU will host its Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup (CECC) West Regional presented by McDonald’s from November 15-17 at the California State Fairgrounds in Sacramento, CA. The top schools and the best collegiate esports athletes from across the West region will compete in person across multiple gaming titles, including Overwatch 2®, VALORANT, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros UltimateTM (SSBU), and Street Fighter 6, in an attempt to qualify for championship weekend at Esports Stadium Arlington, in Texas, next May. The West Regional, presented by McDonald’s, will be the first of four regional qualifying tournaments leading up to “May Madness.”

CSMG and the Network of Academic and Scholastic Esports Federations (NASEF)  will host a parallel middle and high school esports competition featuring League of Legends, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros UltimateTM, Overwatch 2, and VALORANT. League of Legends, Rocket League, and SSBU are championship titles for the CIF Esports Initiative, with over 200 schools participating from across California.

"At NASEF, we're thrilled to partner with CSMG to provide this unique opportunity for middle and high school students to compete alongside collegiate athletes. This event not only strengthens our community but also creates pathways for students to connect with universities and explore future educational and career opportunities in esports." — James Wood, NASEF Scholastic Programs Administrator

In addition to the top gaming action, fans will be treated to a McDonald’s Gaming Zone, with the chance to win prizes, including a custom gaming PC and a custom XBOX, along with getting a first look at a special, CECC-themed McDonald’s commercial.

“McDonald’s is thrilled to play a significant role in building excitement, awareness, and support around collegiate and youth esports athletes at the CECC West Regional and celebrate the dedication they bring to the growing gaming community,” said Owner/Operator Courtney Escalante.
