Scholastic esports teams are rooted in healthy diet and exercise, digital citizenship, good sportsmanship, emotional regulation, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. By the time students start school, many of them are gamers. I believe that our conversations about healthy gamer habits should begin as soon as they begin gaming. While our youngest generation may have the greatest number of gamers, their parents and guardians are the next largest group of gamers in the world. Our shared love of gaming offers powerful opportunities to start healthy habits early and learn from one another.
