High School Fellow
Nate Simons is the Director of Technology for Louisville Public Schools in Louisville, NE. Along with this position, he also teaches 5th-grade technology, a 7th-Grade technology exploratory, high school VEX robotics, and leads technology professional development with the school staff twice a month. Nate is on the board of the Nebraska Schools Esports Association and is the coach for the LPS Esports team.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with wife, 3 kids, 3 dogs, a bird and a hedgehog (yes it's a zoo!). Nate is also an avid gamer... dating all the way back to the Sears brand Pong console his parents bought him as a child. His favorite games are Halo, Uncharted and the Mario franchise.
Why did you become a NASEF Scholastic Fellow?
I chose to become a NASEF Scholastic Fellow because of the amazing opportunities that this will provide for my middle school students. How cool is that my students will now have the opportunity to experience esports DURING THE SCHOOL DAY and as part of our technology curriculum. Esports is more than just playing games and that's what I'm excited to share with my students.
