High School Fellow
Cinthia Paez is a teacher at East Career & Technical Academy (ECTA) in Las Vegas, NV. Ms. Paez teaches 9th grade English, Publications, and Journalism as well as the club adviser for ECTA’s Esports Club. Ms. Paez teaches project-based learning in all her courses and believes that student success is created through meaningful interactions with students.
When Ms. Paez is not in the classroom, she can be found online playing video games or being a chat moderator on streaming platforms. She volunteers through local Las Vegas organizations as a tournament official for video game events. Her passion for video games began when she was in middle school and continued as she studied IT Networking in high school.
Ms. Paez graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education - English.
Why did you become a NASEF Scholastic Fellow?
I hope my students will be able to connect classic and contemporary literature to real world applications. In addition to analyzing and interpreting literature, my hope is that students will find value in the literature.
