Middle School Fellow
I graduated from the University of Virginia in 1994 with a Masters of Education and have been teaching ever since! I started as a Mathematics teacher at the National Cathedral School for Girls and taught my first computer science course there. Since then, I've bounced between mathematics and computer science and currently teach at the Peabody School in Charlottesville, VA. As the Director of Educational Technology, I'm constantly looking for new ways to inspire my students. Currently, I'm working to implement an Engineering 1 course in our Middle School, and am anxiously awaiting the opening of our school's Makerspace in the spring of 2020.
Why did you become a NASEF Scholastic Fellow?
I want to explore eSports as an addition to my school's curriculum and to motivate both girls and boys to create the future of eSports.
